Re: Joe Logan
Looks like we have a shell game going on here, and/or variations on a theme.
Alain Chaim and Joe Logan, Jr. were friends [1]. Logan was president of both Wasatch International Corporation, Aviation Holdings Group, Inc., and Aviation Industries Corp. [2] Allen Conkling at one time was IR for Aviation Industries. Conklin was one of the two friends that found the bodies. Conklin was also involved in IR for Electro Optical, a scam that involved Lehmann, but was never charged [1].
Aviation Industries is an interesting story.
In early '98, Aviation Industries (OTC: AVIA), like Electro Optical, was touted by Future Superstock, a company in which Lehmann was actively involved. On 5/27/98, AVIA agreed to purchase Casino Airlink, Inc. (OTC: POKR), a Ft. Lauderdale, FL-based wholesale travel company [3]. On 7/29/98, AVIA agreed to buy Business Travel, Inc., a corporate travel company [4]. On 8/4/98, AVIA agreed to merge with POKR with the new entity to be called Integrated Marketing Professionals, Inc. William Forhan, CEO of POKR, was also named CEO of AVIA; only one member of AVIA remained on the board of directors, Diran Kaloustian, the CEO [5]. The companies never did merge but POKR did assume the new name.
On 8/18/98, AVIA acquired Biloxi, Mississippi-based Magnolia Tours and Transportation, a motor coach transportation company [6]. On 9/22/98, AVIA filed its Form 10 to become fully reporting [7]. On 10/6/98, AVIA purchased Cruise Society Inc., a Durham, North Carolina-based travel agency [8]. On 6/4/99, both Integrated Marketing Professionals and Aviation Industries signed a Letter of intent to be acquired by ByeByeNow.com (BBN), a recently formed company, for $.77 a share (of either company) towards the initial pricing of the upcoming BBN IPO shares [9]. The CEO of BBN is also William Forhan, and all three companies operate out of the same office [10]. Last Thursday, 10/28/99, BBN said they would now merge only with POKR, but still acquire all AVIA stock; the share exchange price is now priced at $.669, and the IPO is set for the Q2, 2000 [11]. It's interesting to note that the ByeByeNow.com site still is under construction.
Getting back to Joe Logan...
According to Nevada records, on 3/12/98, Joe Logan and Diran Kaloustian founded CITA Americas, Inc., which became a wholly owned subsidiary of AVIA. On 5/6/98, "CITA Americas entered into an exclusive agreement with CITA Institute of Australia/New Zealand to provide its patented method of Ultra-Rapid Detoxification (UROD)" [12]. A few months later, on 8/17/98, Southwestern Environmental Corporation (OTC: SWNV) closed on a previously announced agreement to acquire all the outstanding stock of CITA Americas, Inc. for $2.2M [13]. On 12/1/98, SWNV changed its symbol to DTOX. DTOX has since run into severe problems, including an apparent SEC investigation [14]. However, it appears that as of last Friday, 10/29/99, DTOX is now current in their filings.
Notes: Both Aviation Industries and Integrated Marketing Professional are Nevada companies, and each also has James Muldowney as VP. Our friends at Joseph Charles & Associates are also involved with warrants.
Getting back to KIWI...
Potential Savior of Kiwi International Has No Revenues or Assets to Speak Of
Summary: The recent Securities and Exchange Commission filings of Wasatch International Corp., the possible provider of $5 million in loans to Kiwi, show that in more than 10 years of existence, the company has conducted essentially no business aside from an attempt at a graffiti removal business that went nowhere. Currently, Wasatch hopes to buy a cruise ship from a bankrupt Florida company for $6.7 million in cash and stock and has acquired the rights to develop 15,000 acres in the Bahamas for 25 million restricted shares, according to the documents. Joe Logan Jr., recently appointed president and chief executive of Wasatch, wouldn't comment on how the company might come by the money, referring all questions to John B.M. Frohling, a New Jersey attorney representing Wasatch. Frohling, who appeared at yesterday's hearing in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Manhattan, wasn't available. [15]

Re: Logan (continued)
Regarding the proposed takeover of KIWI, it appears Logan did find a partner:
Edwards is part of a partnership, Edwards-Wasatch Enterprises, which rescued Kiwi in November and has since loaned it an additional $5 million. The $16.5 million offer includes the approximately $10 million already loaned.
The holding corporation is wholly owned by Edwards-Wasatch Enterprises, said Joe Logan Jr., president of the other partner, Wasatch International Corp. of Boynton Beach, Fla. That was disputed by others involved in the case, who said Edwards himself is the majority owner.[16]
I'm not sure how that supposed partnership ever worked out, but in March of 1998 it looks like Logan tried a different approach: using Aviation Industries.
Kiwi International Air Lines has gone to an old source for some new money in a deal that could lead it to merge with another carrier. Aviation Industries Corp. of Roseland, whose president at one time was in line to head Kiwi, said that it has increased its stake in the carrier and is negotiating to merge with the airline's parent, Kiwi International Holdings Inc. [17]
KIWI was shut down for safety concerns on 4/1/99 [18]. It is now in the process of being liquidated. Again, I'm not sure exactly what role if any Logan played in keeping it afloat over the years.
It emerged two years ago from its first bankruptcy when Baltimore surgeon Charles C. Edwards bought the airline and took majority ownership of the company from the employees.
[...]
``The only reason they lasted as long as they did is because Edwards showed up and pumped $20 million into it,' said Iverson, who went on to start a three-jet charter carrier, Sky Trek International Airlines, based at Mercer County Airport in Trenton. [19]

Re: Logan (continued) -- The Logan, Chalem, Scarola connection We have already established the link with Logan to DTOX [1]. DTOX has offices in Los Angeles, Chicago, Denver, Miami Beach, and New York City [2]. Recall that the home Chalem and Lehmann were found murdered in belonged to "Russell Candela of Brooklyn and Easthampton, N.Y., the father of Chalem's girlfriend..." (Kimberly Scarola) and that "Ms. Scarola had gone to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., several days before the bodies were found. Her son, Jeffrey, was with her ex-husband, Kaye said." [3].
A few days later we find this interesting piece of news on Ms. Scarola:
Records also indicate Chalem set up his girlfriend, Kimberly Scarola, 29, in a medical company that sells drug detox services to hospitals in Los Angeles, Chicago and Colorado[4].
Might this medical company have been DTOX?!
