"I have recommended Q to only my closest, most astute friends."
Me too, for all the reasons we know. In particular, I am buddies with a couple of extremely impressive brothers. One is a professional in the financial world, and has made gazillions from nothing over the last decade. His attitude toward my newfound interest in his area is patronizing amusement; he took a small (for him) position in Q a couple of months ago, but continues to regard my success as a matter of luck that will come to an end when sanity prevails.
The other brother, who is at least as smart, went into academia and public policy rather than the private sector. He's always wanted/needed to do well in his (infinitely smaller) investments, however, precisely because his income isn't enough to support his desired lifestyle. I turned him on to the whole G&K thing at the same time. He bought in, gradually increased his positions following the Russian Army, now lurks on the thread, and is ecstatic at his returns.
My wife and I find quite amused ourselves at the difference in the two brothers' reactions, driven by different degrees of "hunger" and attachment to conventional financial wisdom.

PS the latter brother just called with the following story: after much thought and discussion, he decided this morning to add NTAP to his portfolio. It promptly shot up (as had several of his other G&K faves recently), and his broker called back to demand what inside information he had about all these companies! True story...<GGG> |
