Hi Jim: Fered Dawson's take on VOFDM: multichannel.com The article plays up the BRCM connection. However, I will reiterate that TI is probably better placed than any other chip maker to implement VOFDM because OFDM is so close to DMT (the connection here is that TI purchased Amati Communications 2 years ago, which was the leader in the development of full rate ADSL based on DMT). So, the connection TI-CSCO has nothing to do with being a spurned suitor of Wi-LAN, it is just that TI has a lot of valuable chip expertise to bring to the table. The BRCM angle comes from the fact that BRCM is by far the leader in QAM chip technology (QAM is the modulation used for each subcarrier of OFDM)> Best regards, Bernard Levy
