Tekboy; I know I keep saying this, but I think we all need to take a good look at Oracle as a competitor in b2b.

THEY ARE A GORILLA"s GORILLA

THEY OWN 95% OF THE .com DATABASES

I seem to recall that Ariba's software only costs about a half a million, and the Fortune 500 people getting into it expect to recoup their investment very quickly. (low cost of switching)

IBM, M$ST and ORACLE are going to use b2b as a battle ground to try and gain market share in the data base area.

Oracle is going live with their exchange and 7000 existing customers

So we've got a Gorilla collision in the making and Ariba and Commerce 1 may be caualties in this collision.

This analyst says that Ellison claims that his standard is open and Microsofts is closed. If this is true, with the huge installed base Oracle enjoys, it could make all the difference.

Anyway listen to what this guy has to say, bearing in mind that we are talking application software here. With a low cost of switching.

Enjoy
Doug

BTW Ellisons recent call is worth the time as well
