Frank, I saw your exchange with Mr. Fun on the GLBX board and saw that you are looking into the NX-64000 router/switch from LU/Nexabit. Assuming the product lives up to its spin on the Nexabit webpage, can you tell me if the following is true:

Cerent's optical multiplexor becomes a legacy investment going forward. It appears to me that the NX-64000 currently directly supports OC-192 and scales up to OC-768. Why do I need the Cerent box unless I am using routers that only scale up to OC-48 (CSCO, JNPR)? I am beginning to think that CSCO bought Cerent because it knew that LU was close to certifying the NX-64000 with several large telecoms.

Also, do you have any thoughts regarding the NX-64000?

Thanks,

Clay Takaya

Disclosure: I am long LU and CSCO.
