I just got the memoir EX-Friends by Norman Podhoretz.

I was really interested in the part about Lillian Hellman, the noted liar and Stalinist, a truly heinous quasi-human. I loved what Mary McCarthy did to that she-troll by saying on the Dick Cavett Show that "every word" Hellman wrote "was a lie, including the 'ands' and the 'thes.' The litigation ruined Hellman and enshrined her reputation as a pathological liar.
