CNBC says after studying it its a "blistering review", abusing monopoly power, particularly the binding of the browser, key paragraph "msft refusal to respect the user's choice of a default broswer fulfilled Brad Chase's promise to make the use of any browser other than IE on windows a jolting experience."

"As far asthe emergence of a viable competitor in the near future, it will take several years for MSFT to erode enuf for viable alternative..."

207 page document. CNBC: "Initially responded extraordinary arrogance...Bill Gates never went to court to be deposed...unwilling to settle any point along the way." Well, typical CNBC spin...

Who is this guy with the HUGE mustache??? It looks like he pasted it on for a dinner theater role. 88 3/4 on Instinet--they stayed open to handle the traffic they're seeing.

Seems like we discussed a long time ago on this thread that the tactical error MSFT made was binding IE to windows, as it turns out IE is actually better & that was unecessary...
