that's a very strong possibility. another will be analysts arguing that a break-up may not necessarily be a bad thing in terms of investment opportunity. if you think about it, this can be spun in umpteen ways...
the question is only, will the market like that? a great part of MSFT's attraction is precisely it's monopoly status. if that looks threatened somehow, it's valuation no longer makes sense. heck to me it doesn't make sense anyway...<ggg>
