I'm going to disagree in part. I think things are going to go pretty quickly from here. I doubt there will be any serious settlement talks because (a) the previous antitrust case was settled and the settlement didn't stick, and (b) the DOJ has such a strong position after these FOF's that they're going to want/expect concessions Microsoft will refuse. Losing on the facts is the worst case for Microsoft because an appeals court isn't going to reassess the credibility of witnesses. Thus, Microsoft probably won't have much in the way of realistic appeal points.

However, the market may take a while to catch on, so you might be right about stock prices.

I do agree that the Supreme Court won't be interested, and am already on record on that aspect.
