Qwik, twister and James. I'm happy because Microsoft will have to continue to play fair during the long drawn out appeals that will inevitably follow the (technical) remedy phase. That's all I've ever wanted.

The real remedy has already been happening for the last year. The coincidence between Microsoft being investigated and the emergence of Linux is no coincidence. The coincidence between Microsoft being investigated and the endorsement of Linux by Dell, Compaq et al is no coincidence. The coincidence between Microsoft being investigated and the viability of Pure Java is no coincidence. The coincidence between Microsoft being investigated and the success of PALM and the move towards Microsoft-free computing devices is no coincidence. The coincidence between Microsoft being investigated and the credibility of Sun's vision is no coincidence.

The remedy has all ready taken place. What this FOF means is that there won't be a reversal, not until this thing clears the Supreme court. The industry has five years of breathing space, by which time Microsoft will no longer be dominant.

On behalf of the Independent Software Developers of the World, DOJ: I thank you. Judge Jackson: I thank you. Microsoft, I thank you.

P.
