eDrugstores get reimbursement...

This from the October 1999 issue of the Prescribers letter...

<<These alliances give the online pharmacies access to almost every major insurance plan. Before CVS bought Soma.com, the online pharmacy only had about 300 insurance plans, but after joining with CVS, the number of plans jumped to almost 9,000. (6) On the other side of the mergers, the retail chains received an immediate, fully-operational online pharmacy that gave them a quick head start to procure online consumers.>>

The footnote 6 is to:
Avalos G. Online drugstores may change the face of pharmacy business, but first, some headaches. The Contra Costa Sunday Times. July 25, 1999:D1,D3.

It appears that I was premature in buying DSCM, but I think there is a pretty good chance at a turnaround when Wall Street figures out that electronic data interchange will become a reality, and figures out that the reimbursement problem is going away.
