No, We aren't better off because of Microsoft. Microsoft with their "Monopoly" has impeded progress by picking and choosing the new great technologies developed by others and included them in their OS for their own profit. This was unfair to those who had the ideas and also probably impeded new development for simple fear of Microsoft stealing the next great idea... The decision is right on and hopefully it will help rein Microsoft in and level the playing field a bit more.. Cheers, Roger
