Here's a book that sounds right up your alley - Turn of the Century by Kurt Andersen. I'm sure people in your circle were abuzz over it when it came out earlier in the year, but I thought I'd mention it anyway. I read it when it first came out, my wife just started it.

In case you were so occupied with work that you missed the buzz, the protagonists are a married couple. He's a TV producer and she owns a small software company that Microsoft wants to buy.

As a story with a plot its average, but as a spoof of the dotcom world and the media world its hilarious. I was laughing so much my wife couldn't get her work done. I had to take it outside. The stockbroker character is based on Jim Cramer. I think the author and Cramer are friends in real life.
