Hello Truedog. You can understand why I went there. Just had to see it. It's pretty cool seeing your name everywhere, starting with the welcome sign when you come into town, on the water tower, then on the main drag the several businesses that use the town's name in their business name. I was thinking maybe I'd move there and run for mayor.

There's a little park in the center of town that has a plaque that explains how the town got the name. The story is freighter Hennessey was attacked by Indians while transporting cargo. They killed him, then they tied him to a wagon wheel and burned him. The plaque also said he had been a recent arrival from Ireland. It figures somebody in my clan would say to himself, "Hey, I got an idea! Let's go to the Indian Territory and drive mule teams through it!" Bonehead mick.
