It's possible that one of the hidden reasons that AOL bought Netscape was the possibility of getting a large piece of the Microsoft settlement. I owned Netscape when AOL bought them, and remember that that purchase came at a time when the case seemed to be going Netscape's way. If I remember it correctly, AOL also had testified against Microsoft at the time. It will be ironic if the "monopolist" AOL uses settlement money from Microsoft to help fund its use of government in order to stop competition coming from a competitor which is still in its infancy.........AtHome.
