Reno is different from LV. I would say, less glitz and more guts. There is only about a half a dozen "strip like"
hotel/casinos.. But thats more than enough for me.. But soon as I say that.
November looks like Casino month for us.. Sunday it is for MM. and then some friends called from Sacramento and they want to come over and spend a night at the Hilton.. So they wanted us to book a room too. We are easy we did.. So trading money will be traded in for gaming money.. Not really. I'm a tight a$$ed gambler.
Then we have the "south shore" of Tahoe. with some big places.. That place is unreal to get through, crowds, on weekends.
Reno/Tahoe promotes themselves as an all-inclusive vacation destination, outdoors and indoor "Nevada style fun". The outdoors being skiing, boating, hiking, etc.
We like it better than Vegas..Haven't been there for two years.. Stayed overnight to catch an early flight.. Went to the strip and seen the mega-resorts, Inside one, just a huge casino.. seen one seen em all. Used to hang around the Mirage some in the early Nineties, that was nice, but we think the Wynns do the best job down there, but we are a little prejudice.

I'm just killing time waiting to go to the university ski swap to get some new used skis for Mary.. You get good stuff for cheap.. Dynamite skiers around here.Half the Olympic team probably comes from here.
