re:"governments in charge" any company that turns to the government for redress against an unfair,bigger competitor is obviously lacking something.History is full of examples of why governments should stay out of the free enterprise system..they can tax but they should not direct or try to model competition. If you look closely, the market is taking care of Microsoft's monopoly all by itself (Linux; ASP's; the internet.) If we did nothing at all, Microsoft's competitors will continue to win market share; new technologies will emerge and the playing field will become level indeed. If you want to see what a heavily regulated business environment can accomplish look no further than Canada and then compare its GDP growth to that of the USA..no contest. As a Canadian, I would say to the DOJ "if it ain't broke don't fix it" Unfortunately they are not listening to me or anyone else.
