I invested œ5500 in MSFT in April 1997 it now worth œ18450 $/œ adjusted i.e roughly 260% increase in 2 1/2 years. Following the judges ruling I am wondering what views thread members have on where the stock price is going.

Is the best of MSFT over with a significant long term downward adjustment in its price due or will the company continue to prosper despite the decision

Is there a realistic chance of a successful appeal or would the company be better off negotiating now with the Government for the best possible deal?

What would a break up of the company do for the share price?

I suspect that Microsoft has the quality personnel to produce even better products which will enable it to maintain and enhance market share regardless of whatever legal bunk ups its competitors are given by the Government.

I am holding on to my stock regardless of what could be significant short term fluctuations.

I do not believe a company like MSFT is about to become a 'penny stock'
