hello, ellie mae:
re y2k, i wouldn't worry about it. i advise companies on y2k (i just took a break from writing a y2k disclosure statement required by the securities and exchange commission to visit si), and i can tell you that the financial system is in the best shape of any industry, and if you keep paper records, you'll be able to reconstruct any way. but i'm not even going out of my way to do that. the real y2k problem will occur if you fly into mexico city or some other place that's not prepared. oh, your plane will be able to fly, but if you have to buy gas w/ a credit card, you may run into a glitch.
besides, as people will tell you over and over, most of us buy and hold so that if you sit tight, any y2k problem, if it occurs, will happen and get fixed without affecting you.
best, red jinn |
