If broken up, do you think the "baby Bills" could continue to hire with their current pay packages? Second, wouldn't the break up force the "baby Bills" to jack up the salaries of their current employees just to retain them? Before you respond, please compare how much they pay a programmer in Microsoft and Sybase, for instance.
