All very true. The most common knocking sound from the local methane exhaust system is caused by the sound of knuckles upside my head when the sheet bushings are looser than necessary to maintain a seal. Seems, though, to be an inherent gender problem that has little chance of every being fixed or cured. <g>

My BMW problem is not a typical shimmy and ONLY occurs during braking. I plan on printing out the stuff Cheecky linked to, taking it to the folks that work on my car, and letting them figure it out. Fortunately, and unlike the dealer, they never charge me to figure out the problem, just to fix it. The $900 radiator just after I got the car about 6 years ago broke me of any desire to ever take it to the dealer again.
