Beware of smear campaign.

I would like to make readers of this SouthernEra website aware of a smear campaign being conducted by a Canadian broker assisted by two associates one of whom was a Nesbitt Burns dealer who was dismissed for shady practices.

The broker has also interfered in the company's joint venture negotiations and falsely claimed to represent the majority of shareholders.

We suspect that the broker regularly posts messages on this site.

We are still investigating this matter and may bring this to the attention of the Ontario Securities Commission. (I should add that in Australia the ASX would have noticed the share trading pattern, queried the company's directors and broker and an investigation would already be underway. It should also be noted that short selling in small cap companies is illegal in Australia. A model that Canada's stock exchanges will be wise to follow before the Canadian junior resource sector is destroyed to the benefit of London and Frankfurt.)

The broker's aim is to cause disunity amongst the board of directors, unseat Dr Chris Jennings and ultimately produce a break up of the company.

The driving force behind SouthernEra is undoubtedly Dr Jennings, one of the world's foremost diamond exploration geologists but definitely not a share promoter, and the man responsible for the South African diamond and platinum projects.

It is our opinion that diamond and platinum exploration and development is relatively new to Canada and not well understood. This was illustrated by an attendee of the recent teleconference who appeared to think that it is possible to determine diamond grades by drilling. Grade can only be determined by time consuming and expensive bulk sampling.

We feel that a new CEO with the experience of Dr Jennings will be very difficult to find anywhere in the world (I can think of only one, Dr John Gurney, and he is not a corporate man either) and probably not in Canada. We will therefore urge the board of directors to conduct a worldwide search for a new CEO (not in haste, I may add) and until such a person is found will ask for the re-instatement of Dr Jennings as president.

My associates and I (London based) have a financial interest in SouthernEra and have made share purchases during this week. We are not short term traders.
