A few of the comic books appear to be original covers. Most of them are just in plastic covers -- some are loose. Just did a little net surfing on comics. What I have is probably not worth all that much, but still several time more than the $10 I paid for the whole batch -- one of the reasons I love auctions. Now, if I can just find someplace to keep them where I don't get griped at for the clutter. <gg>
Not a chance on me listing the baseball cards. Although, last weekend while I was searching through a box of cards I had never looked at, I did find a single card worth $100 or so. Had I not had a price book handy while I was doing it, I would have just figured it to be a few dollar card.
I used to have a 70% complete set of 1952 Bowmans. Unfortunately, some kid (jerk, punk, etc.) decided that our house needed breaking into and that he wanted the cards. Thank God for insurance. It was kind of funny: I submitted what I though was a fair claim dollar wise for the Bowmans. The adjuster called me back and said that they would replace them all if I wanted (which they said was going to cost around $6K) or they would pay me 80% of it in cash. Since the claim I had made was only for around $2000, I thought their cash offer was a pretty good idea (especially since I had only given about $300 worth of stuff in trade for the cards). To this day, it is the only time I have ever seen or heard of an insurance company paying more than double what someone asked for. Sure would be nice to buy and sell stocks that way.
Unfortunately, I have a much harder time buying stocks and just putting them away and forgetting about them. Almost glad that I can't either buy or sell cards online as easily as stocks. :)
