Turn of the Century doesn't romanticize the dotcom/media world at all. It more like skewers it. Along with the financial world and most of modern American culture. Thought you might get a kick out of some of the insider jokes. One image that stuck in my mind was when the husband drives his daughter to school, she holds a pen with the point outward on her forehead. She explains to her dad that it's protection. If the airbag deployed accidentally it would puncture before it could take her head off. The book is full of stupid stuff like that. I have Dava Sobel's book Longitude kicking around the house. If the Galileo book is written like Longitude was it has to be good. It says on the cover that Longitude was a bestseller.
