Patricia-- just a quick take on your perspectives on Judge Jackson's findings of fact on Microsoft (with the disclaimer that I haven't read the two hundred pages). Very little chance that anyone outside of Jackson's chambers knew about the contents of the findings; judicial secrecy is not going to waived for the sake of the DJIA. That said, reading between the lines of Jackson's bench rulings during the case, most observers saw a lot of antipathy towards Microsoft's case (and the same observers figure that any final rulings out of the district court will be undone by conservative-leaning appellate court). Which is to say that long term damage to MSFT's market cap is unlikely.... Of course, as someone else on the thread mentioned, Microsoft may decide to fold the tents and negotiate a compromise (again).... Steven.
