sitetranslations.com is a very good place to get Web sites converted to a variety of languages, including metatags, uploading etc. Since you mentioned the absence of anything other than English on globalstar.com where there STILL is no minute clock.
There are a LOT of Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish, Chinese and other language users who would be MUCH more comfortable in their own language. Check out the costs of converting to Japanese for example in that sitetranslations place. Globalstar wouldn't need to sell many handsets to cover the cost.
I asked about this at Telecom99 and the marketing people didn't seem to think it was a high priority. Since it would cost little and all that would be needed is a checkbook [or credit card] to pay for it, I can't see the need for delay.
Good point on the coverage maps. It's fair enough to show a globe with the gateway coverage, but people should be able to zoom in to see whether Lichenstein, Andorra, Monaco, Vatican, Libya, North Korea, Timor, Kosovo etc have service available, with a click through to the relevant service provider's url.
Let's hope your suggestions appear soon in the Website.

PS: You know, we could just about manage Globalstar via the Web. Don't really need office buildings etc. Just have shareholder voting from our WWeb terminals. Hold virtual meetings. Design Web sites. Handle advertising and all the rest in cyberspace. |
