Are you pulling my leg, Charley?
Anyway, let us say I am an "unconscious" feminist. To me, all that means is that in each individual, I see the person, the human being first. Only then do I notice whether the person is male or female, white or black, Christian or Muslim, etc., etc. And I would like the law, and society in general, to look at things the same way I do.
I guess I have never gotten over what I was told years ago, in my southern childhood: "Little girls don't climb trees!" Well, this little girl DID climb trees (and fall out of them regularly). I didn't like hearing "Little boys don't cry" either, because I had three brothers, and I knew it wasn't true.
My motto has always been: do your own thing, if it is constructive, and don't worry about whether it is "appropriate" for someone of your sex, or your age, or your whatever, to do it. And that would make me a feminist, among other things.
