Uncle Frank,

I know that Microsoft has taken center-stage as the topic of weekend discussion, but I'd like to request that, if not this weekend, then maybe next, we tackle the subject of spouse management in light of SI addiction.

What I mean by that is a sort of tip-and-tricks issue. Ways to have your cake, and eat it too.

It's actually scary the amount of time I spend on these boards. Too many times I have caught myself looking up from the monitor, blankly, trying to change gears quickly enough to grasp what, exactly, my wife is trying to say to me, with varying degrees of success. Or OTOH, trying to read her one of these terrific posts that, no matter how profound, succinct or entertaining to me, somehow come off a wee bit out of context to one who doesn't participate regularly.

At this point, she is both gracious and loving and has showered me with all the love and adoration that a man could want (QCOM?) but I fear that long-term she'll need more than a two-week vacation and an occaisional walk. I have only been married 5 years, but do I really want to become the stereotypical, Pull-the-newspaper-down-from-my-face, "Yesss, dearrrr," husband? I think not... You old timers gotta help me out here. What works? What doesn't? Are there absolutes and universals in a situation like this? Come on girls, you should have a say in this too.

Sincerely, Aloha Mike
