Fine but IMHO nothing is "dead money" in this wild market. The moment you think it's dead it could rise from the dead overnight. Or fall further. Just have to use your gut and intel to make your choices. As for myself I like buying out-of-favor stocks so long as the company's a great one and is either making tons of money or is just about to. Lots of sector and sentiment rotation in this market. So long as you're wiling to wait a month or two you can make 20-50% gains on some of these downbeaten gems. That's what I've been doing through october, picking the bargains and bouncing on them whenever pessimism is high.

Nobody seems to remember three months ago when IBM came out with whopper earnings and went up 20% almost overnight. Now they want to buy back their own stock cheap. Maybe the CEO's Y2K concern statement was a method of getting those shares at a discount. Just my two cents. But you know IBM makes a lot more money than MSFT and is valued at 25% of that company.

Also love UIS and ANF now. Great bargain winners. An easy 25-35% on both within month or two I think. But those are just my picks. There are plenty more. And if Monday is a sell-off due to MSFT I'm buying more. Love it.
