S&P 500 Probabilities

Since most stocks generally move in the same direction as the S&P
500, it would be nice to know which direction this indicator is
headed. The following tables provide probabilities of S&P 500
movement. The probabilities are based on what the S&P 500 has done in
the past when in similar conditions as they are today -
(overbought... oversold... somewhere in between). For example, the
table might make a statement such as: There is a 5 chance that the
S&P 500 will gain more than 1 tomorrow.

The probabilities will be updated each market evening sometime before
9:00 pm central time.

S&P 500 Probabilities for 11/05/99
More than 1% Loss 0% to 1% Loss 0% to 1% Gain More than 1% gain

7% 46% 36% 11%

S&P 500 Probabilities for 5 market days in the future
More than 2% Loss 0% to 2% Loss 0% to 2% Gain More than 2% Gain

7% 30% 40% 23%
