MM, I don't see what the big deal is about Voltaire's original post suggesting covered calls going into earnings. It was just one man's opinion. There were plenty of rebuttals posted within milliseconds. His approach was prudent, particularly given the fact that he is responsible for investing other people's money. One of the purposes of the thread (IMHO) is for people to propose investment strategies, and for others to critique them. Everyone can decide for themselves what makes the most sense for their situation. I suspect quite a few people appreciated the discussion and learned something about the pros and cons of doing covered writes.
