The book is loaded with stupid fiascoes. The author knows his subject matter. He's friends with Cramer and I think he has lots of friends in the dotcom/media world. He was a founder of Spy magazine. There are some devastatingly funny scenes. I'll bet the book does reflect reality up to a point. There are some parts that are too absurd to be true. The character who owns the software company is named Lizzie, btw. Her dealings with the Microsoft people is some of the best stuff in the book.
