Emile,
<The term Judaeo-Christian was recently invented by Zionist Jews to confuse the Christian majority.>
Wow! And now I am part of some Zionist plot. I aproach this term with a lot more simplicity. Jesus did not come to change the law, but to fufill it. Through faith and by HIS power we are now able to live up to it's righteous decrees as we grow in Him (Holy Spirit). I believe this Jewish Messiah not only forgives our sins, but also gives us power to overcome sin. In other words, we do not find righteousnes in the Judeo-Christian Ethic, but it is usefull as a philisophical basis for civil law. I am not confused about that. Are you?
<There is no such thing as Judaeo-Christian ethics. The term is a fundamental contradiction.>
I view Christianity as the fufillment of Judahism, NOT it's contradiction. The law that was good (after all it was God that gave it) did not turn bad when Jesus, the Messiah came. Obviously the temple worship is not needed, now that Messiah has come, but the Ten Commandments are still valid. What was a commandment( Thou shalt not steal) to the Old Testament Jews has become a promise to the New Testiment Christian. Think about that! As for modern Jewish people, I deal with them everyday because I am in the jewelry trade. I am familiar with modern Judaism because I share the gospel with Jews and have studied thier religion. I am sorry but I see them being plagued by the same temptations as the rest of us: pride, hedonism, or putting ones faith in religion rather than Christ. Some Jews put thier faith in Christ, most don't, just like us gentiles. I find the rejection of Jesus as Messiah by the Jewish people no more threatening than that same rejection by a gentiles.
The ethical standards God gave through Moses and the prophets for day to day living are just as valid today as they were when they were given. They were given by a timeless God. The present spiritual state of the Jewish people is irrelevant.
The proper role of Government (according to Romans 13:3) is to punish evil. Evil is determined or judged by law, and law must have some philisophical basis. I believe the ethical standards God gave through Moses and the prophets for day to day living (Judaeo-Christian Ethic) are time tested and the best philisophical basis for our country. Pluralism is destroying civil law in our country. God gave instructions on how to deal with these matters. I think it is foolish to ingnore them.
I really don't care what the Zionists think or are plotting for that matter. I am not threatened by them. How about you?
