My Dear Friend James:

The PC era is dead. Yes it will have a slow decline but the future is the internet and you do not need a PC to get there. All you need is a browser (i.e., internet appliances). Look at the ORCL/FORD deal. No PC's with complex OS systems are needed.

This is an end of an era and MSFT needs to catch up quickly. This verdict will make it that more difficult.
