Wayne,

Everyone has their biases; everyone has their own reasons for acquiring their biases; everyone acts according to their biases. Given that, I think that it is an unreasonable position to assume that those whose biases differ from ours are assuming such a bias simply from ulterior motives. Ulterior, in the sense that self-preservation and self-advancement (within laws, of course) do not count. Being wrong doesn't count either. And being unbalanced is such a subjective measure that it doesn't meet the criterion for being even included in a discussion.

The above, of course, is JMHO.

So, I think that it is rather unproductive to discuss why others are not doing what we think is the right thing to do. While I think that you are sincere in your arguments, I think that you are being unfair when you think that many who differ with you are not being sincere at the same time. As to whether or not they are justified in their arguments is a different issue, one that may be debated. But why cast personal aspersions? IMHO, that adds very little value compared to the other arguments that you make.

Those who read Buffett's Fortune article and agreed with it should stop trading immediately - given what Buffett talked about frictional costs!
