Doreal Energy Corporation is pleased to announce that the Portugal Aljubarrota No. 3 appraisal well is anticipated to spud before December 31, 1999. The Operator has contracted the necessary drilling rig and equipment and the surface location has been acquired. Required permits are expected from the Portuguese Ministry of Energy by mid-November at which time the drilling location will be constructed. The drilling rig is currently drilling a well in England, and when finished, it will be transported by barge and trucked to the well location approximately three kilometers north of the Aljubarrota No. 2 discovery well. The Aljubarrota No. 3 is scheduled to drill to a total depth of 3,000 meters and will be drilled underbalanced with a compressed air system. This method has been implemented in order to alleviate damage to the formation as was the result of drilling the Aljubarrota No. 2 well. The No. 3 well is expected to take 30 days to reach total depth. Doreal has a 21.25% working interest and a 19.64% revenue interest. Mohave Oil and Gas Corporation, Houston, Texas, is the Operator.
