The security of this is a HUGE factor. They're using good crypto in Blowfish, but how they ensure that the file can only be decrypted on that PC is the challenge. And anytime you store a key on a hard drive, it's susceptible to being hacked. (Hence the preferred use of smartcards for such a purpose.)

It'll be interesting to see if Bruce Schneier ever comments on this. Keep an eye on counterpane.com to see if he does. He puts out monthly newsletters where he'll talk about new security-related issues, and you can get them e-mailed to you. If FATB was smart, they consulted with him on this. The whole concept of ematter depends on this security. If I were an investor, I contact the company and ask if he or any other security consultant was involved.
