Mineral PriceWatch: November Issue

Li2CO3 price increases

SQM has yet again taken the initiative and hiked its Li2CO3 prices for large customers by about 10% of present values, although it is believed that in several instances, prices may actually rise higher than this estimate. The company's action should result in average lithium carbonate contract prices of $1.00/lb, which SQM forecasts to hold in the mid-term.

______

Fot those following Li, it looks like Minsal's predatory pricing strategy has yielded the market share it was looking for - the focus has not turned to the bottom line. SOG, Tanco and other spodumene producers must be pleased to see more reasonable prices for lithium carbonate (Li2CO3) - a potential substitute for spodumene if the price is low enough.
