Below is a very informative post from NovW of
TMF board. Hope it is helpful.

Iomega - Comdex 1999
iomega.com

Great news expected:

<<Clik!? drives
Iomega's Clik! team plans to show off the Clik!? PC Card drive and the AGFA CL30 Clik! digital camera.
............. >>

BeyondPC - an area which I think has great potential:

<<Here's what the Beyond PC team anticipates featuring:

AGFA CL30 Clik!? Camera
Microtek© standalone scanner
Photo Ditto kiosk
Personal Picture Maker PM100 Photo Jetprinters from Lexmark© International and Kodak
Varo Vision Clik!? MP3 player
Roland VS-840ex digital audio mixer
...................>>

The new thing above seems to be "Photo Ditto kiosk", but I don't know what kind of Iomega media it will use ... Zip, Clik! or ZipCD? Hope it is NOT ZipCD .....

Like to see a live Varo Vision Clik! too, if it is going to be live ...

<< Zip© drives
At Comdex 99, you'll see the latest developments along with the newest addition to the Zip© product line, the Zip 250 USB drive. From digital imaging to the latest concepts from the Iomega labs, you'll be able to see how Zip drives and disks give you a complete storage solution.
.................. >>

What is "the latest concepts from the Iomega labs"?

Also expected and although it wasn't spelled it out exactly, the USB External ZipCD (I hope it won't be PP ... LOL):

<< ZipCD? drives
For Comdex 99, the ZipCD team will introduce their external ZipCD? drive, a great solution for music, photography, and backup/archive.
............... >>

A big positive surprise to me, against all the wishes of "expert, pundit and elitist Iomega shareholders/ posters":

<< Jaz© drives
The Jaz© 2GB drive, Iomega's own "Big Kahuna" of large-capacity removable storage, will be on hand to reinforce its place as the number one solution for graphic designers, desktop publishers, software developers, and CAD/CAM and multimedia authoring professionals. The big Comdex 99 news for the Jaz drive will be the introduction of its new USB version.
..................>>

I don't think the USB version was expensive to develop at all, whether inhouse or outside (shouldn't be) .... And I think it will help sell more Jaz drives or slow down the Jaz decline .... Jaz appeared to have always excluded PC users (a SCSI card was needed to install inside the PC - OPEN CASE installation, and that alone could have deterred lots of PC users), now finally ......

With all the cut back on Jaz overhead and expenses, USB Jaz still comes out? GREAT!!!

Of course, I understand that 1394 Jaz would perform a lot better than USB ... but USB is much much more popular for the time being ....

ColtHogLeg45, what happens to your information?

<< Software
Iomega will also be featuring the new Adobe© ActiveShare? software?a fun, easy way to bring digital photos into your computer, organize and enhance them, and then share them with family and friends. ActiveShare contains one-step storing and backup of your precious photomemories to Zip© disks. Adobe ActiveShare includes, as a core feature, the ability to manage and back up your digital photo albums on Zip disks. Photos secured on a Zip disk are displayed within.
................... >>

ActiveShare has been explained in the above better. But "Photos secured on a Zip disk are displayed within"? What does that mean?

Some very exciting things in the above. But I hope they are only some even if most of what Iomega is going to show at comdex ... I hope Iomega has saved one or two even bigger surprises ... But, there could be bigger surprises even only within the above .....
