John, Same here. I started desktop publishign on a 512Mac in the early 80's and went to windows in 1992 due to price and arrogance factors. Right now even the desk top pub programs(quark and photoshop) as well as the video production(non linear editing) programs are all for sale on Windoes and work faster as well. The talks about the mac being faster than Wintels is just talk. An athlon beats a G3/G4. Different architecture makes direct comparisons difficult. Apple is still losing ground relative to windows even as it make more money and solidifies it's niche. Sure they are in the top 5 in numbers, but the top five all together are only 25% of the market. the enormous number of small shops(screwdriver shops) collectively add up to a huge market and Apple does not count that. One measure is to see the number of CPUs that Intel sells and add the AMD numbers and you get 140 million for 1999. Apple is less that 1% of that. Bill
