There will not be a recall of AMD chips, however, if a tradename or trademark violation is found the court can award damages for every chip sold using the unauthorized name. Further, if my memory serves me correctly, there is an additional award possible if the court determines wilfulness, i.e. a punitive damage standard, I believe it is 3x actual damages. Also the court can award attorneys' fees. Further, if the court finds a violation, AMD will have either stop using the MMX name or in every commerical or ad designate that MMX is a tradename of intel. Most companies do not like to pay for their competitions advertisements.
I understand your position regarding responding to "unknown" posters, and respect it. No response is necessary. Hope this helps. Bill
