Check your history. Corel suite consists of a lot of leftovers. Word Perfect was the market share leader in word processing 10 years ago. They didn't adapt quickly enough to Windows. Management sold out to Novell for big bucks. Novell management not only lost market position further, it lost out in its key area - Netware to other systems such as NT. CVorel spread sheet came from the leftovers at Borland and dbase from Ashton Tate DBIII) which as I recall Borland took over. Borland made its mark replicating - not innovating. Corel has done a reasonable job of pulling it all back together, but they were too far behind by the time they bought the products.

Companies are not likely to shift software unless there is a paradigm shift as from DOS to Windows. Many companies moved from Word Perfect DOS to MS Word for windows because WP for Windows wasn't ready and wasn't integrated with others apps.

Corel has an opening with Linux apps. However, if MS has to go open source with windows, then it might just go into Linux apps and blow away any underfunded competion.
