Not quite, but close. MSFT knows Windows better than anyone else. They tweaked Java so that it would run better on Windows. But if you take the code anywhere else, it wont run! You can't even recompile the code to run anywhere else! This is bad, because it fractures the language and it makes Java lose a lot of it's appeal! That's the basis of SUN's lawsuit!
Again, MSFT does not innovate. Instead, they are busy trying to break other company's products when those products conflict with MSFT's own products. Just ask Real Networks and Blue Mountain software.
Bill Gates thinks innovation is embedding a Web browser within Windows!!
