Chuzzlewit, RE: I believe that recent weakness in Dell may be a result of not only the comment by Meredith concerning short-term cost pressures (DRAM pricing), but also a "show me" attitude taken by investors regarding Dell's entrance into new businesses.

One other issue that the Street considers pretty important is that many on the Street feel that they were misled by DELL management at last month's analysts meeting. They feel, and I agree, that DELL either a) knew of the DRAM pricing issue before the analysts' meeting and hoped it would go away, or b) didn't know about the issue even though it was clearly apparent that DRAM contract prices would rise. In the first instance, DELL management was not completely forthcoming. In the second instance, incompetent.
