WaveRider and Glentel Provide High-Speed Wireless Internet Access to the Sturgeon School District TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 8, 1999--WaveRider Communications Inc. (OTC BB: WAVC, Frankfurt WVR.FSE), a global provider of wireless Internet access products, and Glentel Inc. of Burnaby, British Columbia have announced a $400,000 joint contract to connect Alberta's entire Sturgeon School Board District to the internet using WaveRider wireless technology.
WaveRider is providing NCL135 wireless routers to enable high speed wireless connections from over 14 schools and administrative buildings throughout the School Board's computer network to the Internet. Glentel Inc. is providing installation services, antennas, training and additional equipment.
Headquartered in Morinville, about 40 kilometres north of Edmonton, Sturgeon School Division serves schools in several smaller communities.
