tucker "One other issue that the Street considers pretty important is that many on the Street feel that they were misled by DELL management at last month's analysts meeting. ...In the first instance, DELL management was not completely forthcoming. In the second instance, incompetent."

are you speaking from a position of knowledge or guessing? (a) Dell, as it was told, was in the middle of contracting for DRAM pricing and there was no indication that they wouldn't receive the prices as bid and (b) the DRAM pricing issues were spot pricing issues for sales above expectations - they purchased the addtl dram at the higher prices in order to fill the higher sales. are you going to hold it against Dell because a significant supplier, at the last minute, backed out of its verbal agreement on supply and pricing creating a two week window in which Dell was forced to buy at higher prices for greater expected sales? this same supplier came to the table and gave them a better final deal (so i was told due to some competitive pressures from another Dell signed agreement) than even Dell expected. so go figure. call them and discuss it.
