<< My understanding is that the premise of the NBC y2k movie borders on stoopid (which I believe is an understatement.) However, it will no doubt give many people pause for consideration and get them talking at minimum.>>

Most of the people I've visited with simply expect to watch an exciting, action-packed movie. Doubt that many (or any)of them will have their view of Y2K significantly altered after viewing the show. The ramifications might have been different if there was wide-spread anxiety about Y2k right now. Since the prevailing attitude seems to be things are pretty well under control, I don't think the movie will have much of an affect as far as throwing the general public into panic-mode.

It will be interesting to see what happens (if anything) as a result of the movie. Personally, I thought the movie Trigger Effect was pretty realistic about how things could be short-term. Did you see it?

Other views on the movie?
