SUN MICROSYSTEMS INC (117-3/4, up 8-1/16 @ 10:57 am ET) announced that its Netra ft 1800 fault-tolerant, carrier-grade server is providing mission critical support for the Navy's Pacific Missile Range Facility operations. The new PMRF system offers 99.999% availability needed to support missile range operations. The fully fault-tolerant hardware design enables redundant hardware components to maintain continuous system operation in the event of failure.
