Let us assume that your source is correct.
a) PaperChase is right on with his observation that Greeshit had the best shot at watching the bubble pop in Oct 98. Instead he chose or forced to pump more helium. What has changed now? His ego is hurt as the markets flip a bird to him?

b) If he is setting aside some $$$$$ for saving the big banks, in effect he will be doing what he has done in Oct 98. The bubble will pop only when helium tanks (bank credit) are allowed to malfunction. He can not have it both ways. i.e. He can not expect to save the source of the bubble and pop the bubble at the same time.
