The Service Provider arrangement is better than trying to set up a monster worldwide effort. It's going to work and the greedy service providers won't make much money because their expensive minutes won't sell, so they won't sell many handsets and other service providers will get the handsets then sell the minutes. The Globalstar service providers are competing with each other as well as terrestrial providers, whether they understand that or not. There are bound to be some sensible Globalstar Service Providers who understand what's going on and cut their prices and sell some minutes and get a lot of customers before the constellation fills and pressure goes on the minutes. When pressure goes on the minutes available, prices will rise and they will be left out in the cold. The early Service Providers will have millions of subscribers and will make billions of $$. The slow and greedy service providers will miss out! It's a fine system which Globalstar has got. Even finer is the technological pathway to Constellation2. Iridia seems to have got design AND marketing wrong. Maurice PS: Did I mention lately that Globalstar needs a real time TOTAL MINUTES USED cumulative sales graph on the globalstar.com site? It should have a daily sales graph too. An instantaneous 'minutes in use right now' graph would be fun too! We could see the excitement when Babe hits a home run at Qualcomm Stadium or Jiang Zemin announces the latest five year plan or the invasion of Taiwan.
